WE HAVE NOW SOLD OUR CARAVAN

 Anchorage Caravan Park
Our caravan is located on the peaceful site Anchorage Caravan Park which is located at Bronllys, near Brecon, Powys in mid Wales. It looks out over the Black Mountains and is just 10 minutes from the Brecon Beacons National Park.

There are plenty of local attractions with a good bus service from the front of the caravan park, although your own vehicle is advisable to fully explore what the area has to offer.

The caravan has 2 bedrooms and can sleep 6-8 people. It is available for use all-year round but there are some restrictions in the winter months.

We've received only good feedback from visitors to our caravan:

"Thank you very much for the use of your lovely caravan......We hope you will be happy for us to use your caravan again in the future - I'm already looking forward to it!"   S, J, B & E

"We had a lovely holiday with our grandchildren, and the caravan and site were all we could have wished for. We would certainly be pleased to use it again sometime in the future."  J & T

More Information

The caravan is our second home, and as such it is well equipped and maintained. The kitchen has a fridge (with icebox), microwave, gas stove, oven, and separate grill. There is a gas water heater, gas fire in the lounge, and electric panel heaters in all rooms. The main bedroom has a double bed in it, and the second bedroom has twin beds that can be put together to form a double bed. Additional sleeping capacity is possible in the lounge with a double sofabed. There is one toilet / shower room, although additional facilities are available nearby in the onsite toilet block.

We enjoy sitting out on the hammock enjoying the views and going walking in the mountains, but there is much more to offer here. On site, there is a convenience store, free book exchange, laundry room, information notice boards and a hairdresser (Diane says its one of the best she has come across). In the village of Bronllys (which has it's own castle), you will find a well-stocked Spar shop that is also the local garage and hardware store. The local pub is the Cock Hotel which serves food as well. There is also the lovely Honey Cafe (complete with gift shop) where you can get great food including fantastic deserts (obviously Jonathan's recommendation!).

Just half a mile away from the caravan, there is a leisure centre complete with swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym. A mile further on is the market town of Talgarth which has more shops, pubs & facilities including a library and its own festival.

There is plenty to do in the local area, but if you feel like staying in the caravan especially when the weather is not so good, you won't be short of things to occupy your time with.

There is a large television with free digital tv / radio channels via satellite, together with a DVD recorder and a small supply of DVDs. During summer months there is also a hard-drive recorder pre-loaded with programmes / films and a Nintendo Wii games console with various games (removed in winter months), as well as a box of more traditional games. Plenty of garden furniture and some outdoor games are available, together with a large gas BBQ. There is also an idiot-proof gazebo (not always kept there sorry) that can be put up to protect from the sun or showers.

Would you like to stay in our caravan?

Overall, you can see it is a great place to visit for a short or long holiday break. Due to work and social commitments, we are not able use it all the time. So we thought others would like to benefit from it. The site rules only allow us to let friends and family use the caravan, so we decided it would be easiest if we put together this website with all the relevant information for you.

If you would like to make use of our caravan, please use the contact us form to check availability, although the calendar above does give some indication of when you can use it. For any booking, all we ask is for a donation towards our running costs (approx £1500 per year). We offer two different tariffs to suit your budget and our usage:

  1. For use on weekdays, we ask for a donation of just £25 a day. We would prefer the caravan to be used on these days as we are unable to make use of it due to work & school commitments.
  2. For use on Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holiday Mondays, we ask for a donation of £40 per day. We often use the caravan at weekends but it is sometimes available so please enquire.

These tariffs are the same all year round and there is no peak or off-peak period. However, during the winter from the end of October to Easter, there is no water supply to the caravan. Instead use the onsite toilet block with showers as these are still fully functional.

Please note that the day(s) you book includes the night before. Arrival is anytime from approx 7pm (earlier may be possible depending on bookings), and departure is anytime before approx 5pm (later may be possible depending on bookings) . We prefer online payment if possible - just use the DONATE button below.

We are grateful to anyone who makes use of our caravan in order to help with our running costs - so THANK YOU. We hope you will enjoy your stay there.

Items you need to bring

As the caravan is used by ourselves, we do keep it stocked with bedding, towels, clothes, toiletries and food for our own personal use. Please do not use these except in emergencies. Remember to bring the following with you:

  • Double duvet cover(s)
  • Double sheet(s)
  • Single duvet(s) or sleeping bag(s) if required
  • Single sheet(s) if required
  • Towels
  • Toiletries
  • Clothes
  • Food (can be purchased locally from Spar in Bronllys, Co-op in Talgarth or Hay-on-Wye, or Morrisons or Aldi in Brecon)

PLEASE LOOK AFTER OUR CARAVAN AND ITS CONTENTS. IF ANY ACCIDENTS OCCUR, PLEASE ADVISE US PROMPTLY. UNFORTUNATELY, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO PAY FOR ANY DAMAGE.

THE CARAVAN IS NON-SMOKING. DO NOT SMOKE INSIDE IT.

SORRY BUT NO PETS ALLOWED EITHER.

IT IS A QUIET CARAVAN SITE, SO PLEASE RESPECT THIS. THE OWNERS ARE GENERALLY ON-HAND AND THE SITE IS PROTECTED BY 24-HOUR CCTV.
